Summer can be a valuable time for young people to try something new, spend time outdoors and build positive memories with others. This year, Arise Brentwood is hosting a series of free summer activities for teens in Brentwood and Essex, designed to be welcoming, active and easy to access.

For parents and carers, these events offer a simple way to encourage teenagers to step away from screens, meet others, enjoy safe local spaces and take part in positive Brentwood events during the summer holidays.

Doddinghurst Playing Fields

Arise Brentwood will be at Doddinghurst Playing Fields on 28 July and 4, 11, 18 and 25 August, from 2pm to 5pm. Young people can enjoy various sports activities, free food and time together in the fresh air.
Brave Arts will also be joining on 4 and 11 August for street art sessions.

Café A’Moore

On 5, 12, 19 and 26 August, Café A’Moore will host relaxed games and activities from 3 pm to 5 pm. Teens can drop in, have a chat and enjoy a free hot chocolate or milkshake. It is a friendly space for young people who may prefer a calmer setting.

King George’s Playing Fields

King George’s Playing Fields will host activities on 6, 13, 22 and 27 August, from 11 am to 4 pm. Sessions will include scooter, skate and BMX skills and training. Brave Arts will be there on 6 and 27 August, with a skate jam also taking place on 27 August.

Why These Events Matter

Positive local community engagement can make a real difference. These activities are about more than filling time; they offer young people opportunities to build confidence, socialise, enjoy movement, develop creativity and feel part of their community.

Arise Brentwood is committed to creating supportive, inclusive spaces where Essex young people can make good memories, form healthy friendships and experience a positive break from isolation, pressure or screen time.

No Booking Required

There is no need to book. All teens are welcome to come along, even if they arrive after the session has started. Parents and carers can simply encourage their young person to attend, drop them off and collect them later.

With so much to gain — from fresh air and friendship to fun, creativity and confidence — these summer activities for teens are a positive opportunity for young people across the Brentwood community.
